Develop your talent at Egmont Publishing
At Egmont Publishing we operate within three different business areas, where our healthy core is our multimedia publishing segments containing our range of magazines. This is what we are best known for, but we also operate within two other segments, namely e-commerce within selected niche areas and marketing services in the Nordics focusing on different digital positions.
Within e-commerce we are owners and co-owners of e.g. Bagaren och Kocken, GoShopping, Jollyroom, Med24.dk, Outnorth, Fjellsport, Garnius, and Nicehair, and within marketing services we are owners and co-owners of e.g. Sempro, Belong, KAN, Klintberg Nihlén, s360, and Ingager. The current portfolio of companies that we have invested in generates an annual turnover of EUR 370 million.
In a nutshell our strategic ambition is to build growth businesses in e-commerce and marketing services while maintaining a healthy core in multimedia publishing.
The Egmont Publishing Graduate journey
Our Graduate Program is a two-year program where you will be working on different projects within different fast-moving companies that all are characterized with an entrepreneurial culture. This means that you will be working from different locations during the four rotations in your graduate program, e.g. with Outnorth in Växjö or Nicehair in Esbjerg but your base will always be in Copenhagen on Østerbro with Egmont Publishing. It does not matter where you live as long as you are willing to commit to two years with us in Copenhagen. We imagine a constellation where you will be working 3-4 days a week on location with one of our portfolio companies and 1-2 days in Copenhagen. Each project will typically be running 12-14 weeks. Expenses in relation to travel will be held by us.
The Graduate Program has a steep learning curve and you will dive head first into the (perhaps cold) water. Not one day will be the same and you will be given hands-on responsibility and the possibility to impact our businesses right from the beginning of the program.
You will begin the graduate program in September 2019 with an intro based in Copenhagen and from then on, your rotations will begin with your first project. The projects will vary in topic between e.g. supply chain and logistics, procurement, digital marketing and branding, and finance. Between your rotations and projects, we will hold base camps in Copenhagen with the purpose of training and development. This could be e.g. different training programs within different areas as finance, project management, data analysis or participation in different network groups within Egmont. You will also be introduced to our other two business areas, publishing and marketing services. By the end of the graduate program there will be a possibility for a permanent job offer.
Our expectations to you
Some of the greatest expectations we have for you as our upcoming Graduate is for you to be curious and interested in the field of e-commerce and the areas within this new business. We expect you to bring a fresh perspective and challenge us on e.g. methods and ideas. You have a can-do attitude and assume a pragmatic approach to problem solving but you also like to go in deep with data, spending hours on analyzing before concluding. You are open minded, good at communicating and you enjoy working with people from different cultures.
You will of course have to graduate your master’s degree before starting at September 1st, 2019. You are also fluent in English both written and verbal and your mother tongue is one of the Nordic languages. Last but not least you need to be able to be away from home 3-4 days each week.
What you can expect from us in return
In return you can expect a steep learning curve where you will gain international experience within the field of e-commerce. We will help you obtain and develop basic competencies within general business management for you to kick-start your career as an Egmont Publishing Graduate. You can expect to obtain competencies within the intersection of consultancy, entrepreneurship, project management and data analytics.
As a Graduate at Egmont Publishing you will be given a buddy from the e-commerce team to guide you during each project, where you will also be working closely with a manager or business representative from the portfolio company. Additionally, you will be linked with your own mentor, a leader from the Egmont Publishing organisation, during the graduate program.
